It was the year 1759 when a determined young man named Arthur Guinness purchased
a long-neglected brewery on James' Street in Dublin, Ireland.
Despite the profusion of breweries in the area at the time, and the collective
disbelief of his friends, he set out to establish himself as one of the world's premier brewmasters.
Renaming the brewery St. James' Gate, Mr. Guinness saw his dream come to fruitition,
and today St. James' Gate is recognized around the world as an established
leader in the industry with an unyielding commitment to quality.
